This quick masala chai recipe brings you the rich, comforting flavors of traditional Indian tea using pantry-friendly ingredients like ginger powder and cinnamon. Perfect for cozy mornings or relaxing evenings, it's an easy way to enjoy the warmth and aroma of spiced chai in just minutes
Ingredients
● Water – 1 cup
● Milk – 1 cup (any kind)
● Black tea leaves – 2 tsp (or 2 strong black tea bags)
● Sugar – 1.5 to 2 tsp (adjust to taste)
● Ginger powder – 1/4 tsp
● Cinnamon powder – 1/4 tsp
● Optional (if you have):
● Pinch of cardamom powder or 1 crushed green cardamom
● 1–2 cloves (if you like extra spice)
Instructions
Boil spices and tea
In a saucepan, add water, ginger powder, cinnamon powder, and tea leaves. If you’re adding cardamom or cloves, toss them in now. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Add milk & sugar
Pour in the milk and sugar. Stir and let it come to a boil again. Simmer gently for another 2–3 minutes so the flavors mix well.
Strain & enjoy
Strain into cups and enjoy hot. Great with a biscuit or just on its own.
